Student Wang Pei-Yu has been granted a utility model patent in Taiwan for her work, 'Design of Electric End-Face Machine to Optimize the Performance of Gas Piping in a Semiconductor Plant.' Faculty advisor:Prof. Hung-Hsiang Wang

Professor Hung-Hsiang Wang supervised Wang Pei-Yu from the Graduate Institute of Innovation and Design at National Taipei University of Technology on her thesis, "Design of Electric End-Face Machine to Optimize the Performance of Gas Piping in Semiconductor Plant." The design received a utility model patent in Taiwan and was successfully commercialized by GENII IDEAS Co., Ltd., with sales in Japan. The product was featured at SEMICON JAPAN 2025 and covered in GAS REVIEW Japan in December 2024.
This new electric end-face machine features a cylindrical design, making it lighter and smaller in size than traditional models. While maintaining the same operational logic as conventional end-face machines, it allows for seamless operation by securing the pipe with a magnetic clamp at the front before performing end-face processing.
1. 80% improvement in clamp replacement time
2. 54% reduction in weight
3. 59% reduction in volume
4. Magnetic clamp mechanism enables 100% recyclability
