Student Kang Ming-Wei won the 「17th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DESIGNER OF THE YEAR AWARDS」with his work 「Pexels」, Faculty advisor: Prof. I-Jui Lee.
Bright colors enrich our world, yet for those with color vision deficiency, their perception is quite different. Due to genetic factors, they see reds and greens as dull browns, leading to misunderstandings or even mockery from others because of their inability to accurately distinguish colors. This can result in social and communication difficulties, and in severe cases, affect mental health due to anxiety, leading to less optimistic interpersonal relationships.
"Pexels" is an educational board game designed to entertain and educate, combining elements of color mixing, two-player interaction, and empathy. Through the limited puzzle space of the board game, we aim to maximize derived education, hoping to foster inclusivity and respect for diversity through color mixing. Our goal is to support this unique group, helping children on the path of special education to create unique colors and friendships with their peers.
