Spartina alterniflora is an invasive alien species that has long disrupted wetland ecosystems and displaced native species.
In response to this environmental challenge, we upcycle the plant into ecological habitat bricks with porous structures that provide shelter for intertidal organisms.
By incorporating biochar derived from Spartina, the bricks also improve soil conditions and promote biodiversity—transforming a destructive force into a tool for ecological restoration.
